George Hunter P.A. Injury Lawyers Tampa Bay Florida

George Hunter, P.A.

As an attorney, I have the privilege and honor of being a part of a profession that allows me to be a thinker and problem solver while helping people in the process.

When family matters
George Hunter's first introduction to the law came through his father, a forty-year veteran of military service and law enforcement, including 20 years with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. In this family environment, George received strong positive influences and witnessed first-hand the value of discipline and persistence.

Insurance experience taught customer service, accountability, and performance
After graduating from the first graduating class of Tampa's Gaither High School, George attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. His first job after graduation was as an insurance claims specialist for a major national property and casualty insurance company. While in that position, he worked with claimants, insureds, investigators, experts and attorneys in all aspects of property and casualty insurance, including automobile bodily injury, property damage, homeowners and commercial property insurance losses. Through this experience, George gained the requisite skills, knowledge and insights on how to effectively evaluate potential liability exposures, mitigate losses, interpret policies and apply the law.

The law intrigued him.

A student of opportunity
George saw an opportunity to help people and seized it. He went to law school. He had the foresight to combine his Juris Doctorate degree with a Master of Business Administration degree, giving him a strong foundation that would one day help him operate his own entrepreneurial business. George graduated from the Stetson University College of Law and the Stetson University School of Business Administration with a J.D./M.B.A.

George is admitted to practice in all state courts throughout the state of Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the George Edgecomb Bar Association.

Choosing Tampa Bay
George began his legal career in the law firms of downtown St. Petersburg and Tampa. He has represented numerous insurance companies, including his former employer. With a combined 21 years of insurance industry and legal experience, George chose to stay in Tampa's South Shore community because he saw the opportunity for growth in this fast-developing area of Tampa Bay, assisting residents and businesses throughout the community with their legal needs.

A lawyer in and for the community
George is actively involved in the community. He has been a frequent sponsor and coach of area Little League baseball and football teams. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the Riverview Boys and Girls Clubs, he is a member of the Riverview Chamber of Commerce and is active in sports at his local YMCA. A frequent guest speaker at area schools and mentoring programs, including the Stetson University College of Law, George has served as an instructor to both legal and non-legal professionals through the Hillsborough County Small Contractor Development Program and the National Business Institute.

His hobbies include football, basketball, golf, boating, fishing, and bowling. George is a big fan of Tampa Bay's professional sports teams, including the Bucs, Rays, and Lightning, as well as major college sports, especially Gator football and Gator basketball.
